How to keep kinja running - replies

Replies are seemingly impossible in Kinja, but a few extra steps will have you on your way.

First , go to notifications and click on the name of the person you want to reply to.

Second, cli ck on the “discussions” tab and find the reply to which you wish to respond to.

Third, click on the word bubble as you normally would. This will take you to the reply within the post.

Fourth, reply!

For some people, myself included, replying to someone through normal replies just takes you to the post and not to the actual reply.

Oh yeah that happened to me for a while. For me, disabling cosmetic filtering on uBlock Origin seemed to help.

all I had to do on a post where the replies were invisible was to hold “Shift” and click the reload page button.  I’m guessing there was some cached Javascript which was messing things up and forcing a reload from the server took care of it.

Yeah, a ‘#’ gets inserted in the URL which breaks stuff. I find m ost  of the time, clicking on the permalink will take me to a version I can reply to. Sometime this doesn’t work, at which point I saw fuck it and just use Edge, which doesn’t seem to have the issue.
